We welcomed a film crew & galgos left for new homes

Today we welcomed a TV crew from Murcia who wanted to learn about the situation with galgos and why so many leave abroad to find new homes! We managed to rope a local galguero into the interview also. He explained the breeding process and why they are no longer wanted when they can not compete.

I think its important the Spanish know what’s going on as believe it or not many don’t! The three minute report goes out in June here in Murcia to help raise awareness!

Today we also said goodbye to SIX lucky GDS babies! The first transport we said good bye to Orian and Alahmo who are heading to Germany right now to Galgos en Not. The second transport involved a film crew from Murcia TV who are going to highlight why so many galgos need to leave Spain to find adoptions.

They filmed Betty, Gideon (shy corner) and Sol (shy corner) who are off to the UK and IceWater who is heading to Belgium! Sadly Neptune didn’t make it onto the transport after we rushed him to the vets due to illness. He collapsed for no reason and has since been paralysed form the back end down.

Thank you to Galgos en Not, our team in Belgium and Suzie our UK officer for the adoptions. Thank you Alstrays / Chris Marshall for the fantastic and professional transport of our babies across europe, they are in great hands! Wonderful team work! Safe trip.

Tomorrow four more GDS babies are leaving for the USA.
