Things are starting to move and we are almost ready to start building

From Tina….

“Things are starting to move and we are almost ready to start building! After a meeting with the council this morning we are literally on tip toes waiting to scream let’s go! We are just waiting for that call….

As we approach moving GDS onto bigger and better grounds for the dogs I want to proudly tell you that this year GDS is stronger, happier and the best it’s ever felt. We have a wonderful team, the best team we have had since we started and I’m so proud to still have on board the lovely Gaynor the lady who lent GDS her land right at the very beginning so we could make this happen.

The beginning was a time when I was stood alone wanting to rescue every Galgo I could but there was only so many a two bed flat could hold and a husband would tolerate! Since then with amazing volunteers that are still with us today we have rescued over 600 galgos, pods and other breeds.

We have bought a piece of land, funded the electricity, water, metal work, project plans, licenses, taxes, engineer fees, security and now we are on our way to funding the drainage, bricks and mortar!

This project has been one of the hardest tasks I’ve ever personally taken on and it could never have happened without you, your help and the people that stood by GDS thru thick and thin, through the ups and downs, the team are the ones left standing together and I personally can’t wait to break ground with you in what I believe will be happening next week!

These are exciting times and we can’t wait to take you on this journey! Thank you!”

A lot has happened since the last time I blogged, please look at the GdS Facebook page.
